Ok, ok, I know, I know...This is GORRY lol But I have to admit I have NEVER done anything like this before and it was FUN to do! If ya don't like blood and you get queasy over it, then don't look any further. But then again before you get all grossed out, just know that it isn't real blood your looking at! MY BFF Kelly & I went to a ZOMBIE BALL on Ft. Huachuca Army Post at the TMAC! It rocked ----ummmmm We rocked! DJ Breck One was the DJ there playing fantastic music and we danced and danced that night! Melody with the owner of the Ball. We had a blast of a time!
Ok here it goes...
The making of the ZOMBIES
First it was time for me to figure out what I was going to be and wear. Ah ha! I was to be a Zombie Bride and I would be holding a dirty bouquet of flowers, dirty veil, and holding my grooms leg and foot because he wanted to leave me at the alter. So I had to find my dress and here it is:
Ahhh A nice beautiful white dress that my own Mom gave me to use. I told her that I was going to shred it and she would never see it again. No problem she said! So I had to shred it and make it dirty looking. Here it is:
Here it was a day before the Zombie Ball and Kelly & I went for a walk outside and found a dirt mound. Rub, rub, rub in the dirt goes this beautiful white dress that I shredded. Ahh I LOVE MUD!
Now it was time for BLOOD!
BLOOD BLOOD & MORE YUMMY BLOOD!
Yes it was actually YUMMY! Not the store bought kind in a tube, sheeze I can imagine shoving that stuff in my mouth out of the tube. So we decided since we both were on a tight budget we would do research and figure out homemade ways of making our faces and etc.
BLOOD is made out of:
Corn Syrup
Chocolate Syrup
Red Food Coloring whole bottle
&
a Few drops of Blue Food Coloring
(Optional - dish soap)
EWWwww Dish soap - queasy- sick sick - Nahhhh never used it! Suppose to help take the coloring out of the clothes if you are planning on washing them. I never used it and they came clean anyhow.
We found lots of great info on YouTube!
So here we go...
Now to make the wounds!
Here's Kelly!
Painting on the glue!
GLUE???
Yep Elmers glue to be exact!
&
TOLIET PAPER
(Clean of course lol)
You place elmers glue on your face, body, arms, legs, you name it wherever you want a wound at. Then place sheets of toliet paper over the glue and then add more glue and TP.
Like this:
Ahhh yes this is how to keep Lauri quiet! LOL
I tell ya I was so hungry and I couldn't even chew on anything. Not thinking I should have ate dinner first! LOL Well anywho...Ya have to let this all dry. It took awhile! While drying we decided to splash blood everywhere on our clothes!
Yep this is my bloody dang dress!
Here is Kelly placing blood on her doctors outfit!
And now for the WOUNDS!
Yep all dry and ready to be cut open now!
LOL
SURGERY TIME!
Cut cut cut with scissors and tweezers. Ah yes this was quite tricky across my mouth! I actually had steady hands this night! WHEW!
Ok ya all want to know what makeup we used too?
Concealer for the light color
Eye shadows - dark black and even red, pink, and grey for the wounds and shadows.
The white on my mouth was Wolfe FX paint that I have used for the Cats costumes.
As you can see here Kelly has open wounds and she used lip liner I do believe in the wounds. If you look at mine below I used red eye shadow in my wound - it was a strange color for eye shadow but I believe it was dark pink of some sort.
Now to make the teeth in the peeling skin for me.
Wolfe FX paint
The black outline I used my eye liner that I bought from Dollar Tree. Cheap $1.00 (it lasted all night long) The white long things underneath the teeth represent roots of the teeth. (Got this idea from a Youtube video)
AWESOME!
NOw now it is time for MORE BLOOD to make us look Gross and Zombified!
TOTALLY GROSS yet AWESOMIZED!
ARE YA READY???
OK Here we go!
Ta Da!!!!!
GROSE?
I'll say!
Really looks like flesh hanging with real blood eh!
Totally AWESOME!
Check out The Zombified Doctor!
So AWESOME!
I believe as the night went on my makeup and all the blood got even more realistic!
The wounds just made it more real!
I didn't wear my contacts with my outfit, but I could have! LOL
These next few photos I was trying to get a side shot of hot the Toliet Paper made it look like flesh hanging there. Check out the photos - so grose!
Some one call the doctor my flesh is peeling!
I have to say that I never dressed up like this ever. Yeah I have dressed up as witches, skeletons, Vampires, Ghosts and much more spooky things. I used to chase kids off at Halloween even in my parents yard or my own yard. But the Zombie outfits? Wow I had a blast! I WILL DO IT AGAIN!
Oh my oh my, I almost forgot to share something with you...
Alright we both look evil ok and I have been harassed and I know Kelly has been bugged about our outfits because WWJD?
Let me say something here OK - I have been a Christian all my life and God/Jesus/Creator/Universe has been a BIG part of my life. My prayers seemed to be answered in many ways. God knows how many hairs are on my head. So please don't preach to me that this isn't Christian like. This is all for fun and that is all it is. I don't go around everyday looking like a Zombie ya know nor anything else that is spooky to some of you. My flesh peeled off towards the end of the night and I am back to my normal self, sweet, kind, loving and etc Lauri. Same goes for Kelly. We like to have fun and that is why we do what we like to do with our Costuming & Makeup.
Our God still LOVES us!
And another thing Halloween may only be for kids to go trick or treating. But Dressing up is not childish nor is it for 2 yr olds. I would like to see people say that to the Makeup Artists in Hollywood or etc. I have been into Makeup Artist work for a long time and someday I would LOVE to get my foot in the door in Hollywood as a Makeup Artist. I am good Makeup Artist and someday my dream WILL come true!
Can you believe that we stopped at my parents!
Mom got to see what happened to the pretty white dress she gave me! And her Zombified bloody daughter.
BRAINS! BRAINS! BRAINS!!!
Yup we got the brains and we are smart too because look at our Awesome Costumes and our Awesome Homemade makeup!
